Ayurvedic Treatment for Ringworm
Ringworm is the skin infection caused by fungi. It a highly contagious disease where the skin develops a red ring like rash, this rash is spread in a circular pattern. There is also a severe itching. Ringworm is caused due to improper hygiene and humid weather conditions. This disease is called Dadru in Ayurveda and is caused when the Vata Dosha is vitiated. There are very good Ayurvedic remedies for Ringworm, let us discuss some.
- One of the best Ayurvedic Treatments for any skin disease including ringworm is applying neem paste. The paste of neem leaves is applying over the affected areas on the skin. This will also cure the itching.
- Bathing in neem water is also one of the very good remedies. Neem leave are boiled in water and the patient is made to bathe with them.
- Juice of the Holy Basil leaves is applying on the affected areas of the skin.
- Application of lemon juice or honey on the effected areas is also an excellent cure.
- Turmeric paste is also applied on the infected areas. Using turmeric is the oldest form of ring worm treatment methods. The patient can also be given a paste of turmeric and honey orally.
- The leaves of Lemon Grass are made into a thick paste using butter milk and applied on the affected areas, this is also a very good remedy.
- Juice extracted from fresh coriander leaves mixed with some turmeric can be given orally to the patient. This gives lot of relief to the patient if his skin has become very dry aggravating the symptoms. This mostly used in the winter months.
- Cassia leave are ground into a think paste and applied on the affected areas of the skin.
- The leaves of the herb Leadwort is made into a paste with salt and water and applied on the infected areas. This is also found out to cure the marks on the skin caused by the infection.
The patient must avoid sour food completely and consume bitter food like bitter guard, drum stick, neem etc
