Birth Complications- Breech presentation & Contracted pelvis
At any stage of labor women may have certain complications. At the present level of development of medicine, deliveries were safe enough for women and for the child. A careful examination and monitoring of women and the fetus during pregnancy and during childbirth can advance to identify and prevent possible adverse factors.
Much more prosperous for and outcomes of delivery depends on the experience, professionalism and attention to the doctors and midwives, but do not underestimate the role of most expectant mother. Early registration at maternity clinics, regular visits to the gynecologist, the observance of all medical recommendations, healthy lifestyle during pregnancy, physical and psychological preparation for childbirth minimize the risk of unpleasant surprises and make the process of birth as light.
Various types of birth complications are as follows:
Breech presentation
It is determined by the presenting part of the fetus, palpable (groping) through the cervix and the first passing the birth canal during childbirth. Births breech can proceed normally, but often there are complications: birth trauma, asphyxia, and stillbirth. The normal fetus is considered to be the next location in the uterus: the head is at the bottom, is located above the heart and childbirth first passes through the mother’s birth canal. But this is not always.
In 3-4% of all female fetus located in the uterus on the contrary is called breech. In breech presentation the entrance to the pelvis mother (above heart shaped) buttocks facing the fetus (breech), leg (foot previa), or buttocks with the legs (mixed breech presentation) breech presentation is the common birth complication.
Contracted pelvis
Until the XVI century, it was believed that the bones of the pelvis during childbirth diverge, and the fetus is born, resting his legs in the bottom of the uterus. In 1543 anatomist Vesalius proved that the pelvic bones are joined motionless, and the doctors turned their attention to the problem of a narrow pelvis.
