Ayesha Takia got married to sweetheart restauranteur Farhan Azmi, on March 1, 2009 . The wedding which was supposed to happen durnig Novemeber, got postponed because of the unfortunate 26/11 terror attack. The marriage was held amidst lot of fanfare at Cafe Basilico,Azmi’s restaurant. This was followed by a lavish reception at the Cricket Club of India lawns. Prominent people who attended were Riteish Deshmukh, Suniel Shetty, Sanjay Dutt, Nauheed Cyrusi, Abhishek Bachchan and Nagesh Kukunoor, her ‘Dor’ director.
