Breakingup online or digital dumping is on the rise with many people preferring to use social networking sites and email to breakup with people. 34 percent of people polled in London, said that they had broken up and ended their relationship by email. 13 percent had changed their status on Facebook without telling their partners and six percent had released the news unilaterally on Twitter. Only 2 percent people chose to broke up through an SMS or mobile text message.
The old fashioned ‘meet up and breakup’ is 38 percent and online breakup is coming close with 34 percent. Breakup over the telephone stands at 8 percent.
