Differences between Google Phone Nexus One or iPhone: Which is better?

iphone’s launch in 2007 brought to the world,the superb clarity of 320×480 resolution and the unique multitouch feature which suddenly made those Nokia N series phones, oudated. But as times passed, Symbian technologies graduated to 360×400 screens while iPhone stayed the same. Move on to January 6, 2010, Google Phone’s Google Nexus One wows the world with 800×480 pixel screen that can really beat the stick(put the phrase you want) out of iPhone. Apart from this, the Nexus also has a 3.7 inch display.
Camera and Video
The iphone’s modest 2 mega pixel camera was the most outdated feature, a primary reason why they dint roaring business in the face of camera phones with 3.2 and 5 megapixel cameras. It was also not good at capturing videos. The iPhone 3GS did catch up with a 3.2 megapixel camera. But Google Nexus One boasts of a 5 megapixel camra with an LED flash, an autofocus and promises to take better pics than the iPhone. The video recording is better too, recording videos at 20FPS with a resolution of 720×280.
Operating System
1. It is believed that Nexus One is faster than the iPhone;even the multitasking of Nexus One is better than the iPhone. By the way, iphone has the Snapdragon processor with very high speed while iphone has the robust ARM Cortex A8 processor
2. Nexus One has a more open platform compared to the OSX platform of the iphone. The consumer has better choices in terms of application, Apple does not allow developers to make apps that are adapted or mime the core functionality of their own existing apps. Android gives a lot more options to the consumer rather than the iPhone OS
3.On the iphone, you can say your friend’s name and the call is made to her number. You have to say an artiste’s name and the iphone will play her song. But in the Nexus Phone, you have to say it aloud and the phone will type the email, do Google search, tweet and even update your status on Facebook. Google Phone obliterates the need for a keyboard in more ways than one. It will also take care of accent issues!
Application approval:
Though iphone’s app store was a revolutionary thing, the application approval process was somewhat tedious. No such thing with the Android powered Google phone, and the fact that it is an open platform, there is more to rejoice about for appliation developers.
Replaceable battery
If the battery of the iphone fails, you have to get replaced from the nearest Apple store. For Google Nexus one, you replace the battery like you do it for any normal phone. Just open the lid at the back, replace the battery and use it.
Bluetooth
iPhone cannot send files through Bluetooth, a huge drawback of the iphone. No such issues with Google Nexus.
Multitouch
iPhone’s multtouch feature is far more user-friendly than the one on Nexus One. The phone may have a good user interface but it surely does need to work on the multitouch feature
Applications
The iphone has more than 90000 applications to choose from and even the quality of these applications are better. The Nexus currently has 20000 applications and one sad feature of the phone that users can store applications only on the phone memory. You cannot install these applications to your memory card. So in effect, this restricts the number of applications, you can store on the Google Nexus phone. This surely looks like a piracy protection move by Google, which may be disabled in future.
Conclusion
Google Nexus One is better than iPhone wihen it comes to features and performance. The speech to text is the only UNIQUE FEATURE THAT the Google Nexus One has. The iPhone does come a close second to the Google SuperPhone. By the way, the tables could be turned because iPhone’s fourth generation should be out in a few months from now.
