Google’s New Shopping Tool To Simplify Online Shopping



The next time you want to buy something online and get confused with the multitude of Web sites selling products, try shopping the new tool from Google.

The tool collects information about products and prices automatically by scanning millions of websites in India and extracts product names, prices and images. With the help of new technology, users will receive information from more than 30,000 Internet sites that allowed India to investigate a variety of products on one page.

To use the tool cart, simply type the product name in the box of regular Google search, then on the results page, click ‘Show Options ” link located above the search results and select “shopping”.

Once you start seeing search results, you can customize your filtering options as needed. Currently there are several independent Web sites like Rediff, eBay, naaptol selling products online. The Google tool scans through these websites and displays the most relevant product in a single window rather than going through each of these sites separately.

The tool helps users compare prices in different stores for a specific product. It also allows users to select a price range of any product. Mr. Vinay Goel, Google Product Manager India, told Business Line, “Our research shows that consumers on average spend 35 percent of their time to research products online before making a buying decision . This new tool is designed to help users make decisions more quickly and finding deals online … ”

For mobile users, Google has introduced an application that lets you search from your cell phone simply by taking a picture. So if you’re in front of the Eiffel Tower and want more information about it,simply click on an image using an Android phone. Google breaks it down into bject-based signatures and compares it with every item in its picture database. In seconds, you get information on the Eiffel Tower.
