There are many people in this world who are trying to lose weight and there are almost equal number of people who are desperately trying to gain weight but seldom observe any change in their weight.
In the pursuit of gaining weight, some may resort to junk foods or fatty food items like burgers, hotdogs, etc. This may help them achieve weight gain. However, in the long run you may develop unwanted flab on tummy, hips and thighs. This will make you look for ways to shed the excessive weight. In addition to extra flab, junk foods may also cause unwanted health complications. Such foods do not contain healthy nutrients and consuming them is not good for health.
People who are underweight are likely to suffer from low blood pressure, get tired easily and easy victim to other health complications. Here are some golden rules that will beginners to gain weight easily:
Don’t rush to gain weight
In order to gain weight, most people start eating food items all of a sudden at an increased rate even if they are not hungry. However, your metabolism will not be able to adjust this and you want be able to desirable weight gain. Hence, you must slowly increase the diet to gain weight in a healthy manner.
You may eat 3-6 small portions of meals in a day rather than having 2 large portions of meal. You must increase fruits and vegetables in your diet. You can also have salads, fruit juices and milkshakes at an interval of 3-4 hours.
Never skip your meals.
You must never skip your meals. Meals keep you active and healthy. Most of us consciously or unconsciously tend to skip breakfast. However, according to health experts, breakfast is the most important meal is it provides you the energy that keeps you active throughout the day. An ideal breakfast can be upma, boiled eggs, fruits like banana with full cream milk.
Lunch should also be healthy and filling whereas the dinner can be light so that it digests fast and you can get sounds sleep.
Drink Plenty of Water
Water helps in flushing out toxins from the body and helps proper regulation of blood in the body. Drinking at least 6-8 cups of water can also help in gaining weight. Avoid drinking aerated drinks as they dehydrate your body.
Excercise
Though one may feel exercise is only necessary for overweight people, it also necessary for underweight as it helps in staying fit and burn those unnecessary calories that may develop into ugly looking fat deposits on your body. A daily exercise of 50 minutes will help you immensely in achieving a good physique.
An Idea for a Balanced Diet to Gain Weight.
Cereals like upma and shira for breakfast, dal and rice at lunch and chapatis for dinner. Full cream milk. curd, ice-creams and paneer from dairy products is a must to gain weight. Vegetables and fruits that are rich in protein and fiber can help you in gaining weight consistently. Protein rich food materials like fish, chicken, eggs, meats, sprouts and pulses are necessary for achieving a good physique. Fatty food items like butter, ghee and unsaturated oils can help you achieve weight gain at a faster rate. You may also include health supplements in your diet after consulting a doctor.
Keep in mind that you cannot gain weight in just 1 or 2 weeks in a healthy manner. You need to consistently follow your diet for at least 3 to 4 months to get desirable results. The reason behind this is that your body may take time to respond to the change of diet.
