Katrina Kaif, Lux Brand Ambassador
Lux, the beauty soap brand endorsed by film stars since decades have now roped in the gorgeous Katrina Kaif. The brand name Lux is derived from the word Luxury. With Bollywood going technicolour in the 1960s, Lux became colorful as well, with a rainbow coloured range of pink, blue, yellow and green
Though the ‘brand new’ brand ambassador of Lux is Katrina Kaif, other Indian celebrities who have endorsed Lux include Madhubala, Nargis, Meena Kumari, Mala Sinha, Waheeda Rehman, Sharmila Tagore, Hema Malini, Zeenat Amaan, Poonam Dhillon, Shabana Azmi, Neelam, Juhi Chawla, Madhuri Dixit, Raveena Tandon, Rani Mukherjee, Kareena Kapoor and the irrepressible Shah Rukh Khan.
Michelle Pfeiffer, Elizabeth Taylor, Sophia Loren, Penelope Cruz, Catherine Zeta Jones, Racquel Welch, Liv Tyler, Charlize Theron are some of the International film stars who have endorsed Lux.
The first bar of Lux was made in India and sold for a princely sum of two annas in 1934. In the early 1970s, Jayalalitha, now a famous political figure, featured in a Lux ad, when she was in the prime of her acting career.
