Indiagames has come out with a report on mobile gaming in India. Let us find out the statistics of mobile gaming industry in India. Here are the findings:
- The mobile gaming industry is valued at $29 million and it is expected that it will grow to a whopping $250 million by the end of 2010. This is the astronomical pace in which the mobile gaming industry is supposed to grow.
- The maximum number of mobile games download take place between 1pm and 5pm and between 7pm and 11pm.
- An average mobile game download price on GSM phones is Rs 35.5 (US$ 0.89) as compared to CDMA’s INR 22.25(US$ 0.56).
- The top 10 mobile games downloaded were cricket, Hollywood and action oriented games.40 percent of all mobile gaming players were between 22-35 yers of age and most of the users are male.
- Airtel is the leader in the mobile gaming industry, followed by Vodafone and Reliance Communications.
- GSM lead mobile gaming downloads with an impressive market share of 70 percent.
- Gujarat is the state which has most users downloading mobile games, followed by users in Mumbai and Karnataka.
- Airtel has the largest share in games followed by Vodafone and Reliance Communications.
- GSM has market share of 70% as far as no of downloads is concerned, and 79% for revenue split.
- Gujarat is the top GSM circle followed by Mumbai and Karnataka.
- It is evident that most of the mobile games are actually mobile versions of PC games like Brian Lara.
