Motorola Cliq: The Best Mobile Phone for Social Networking

Motorola Inc has found it difficult to replicate the success of Moto Razr that became a megahit in 2005. Until now….Motorola has decided to barge into the smartphone market with Motorola Cliq, that will use Google’ s Android software.
The Cliq is not exactly original looking but nevertheless can make an impression. The front part of the phone has a brilliant 3.1 inch touchscreen and a few navigation buttons, and there is a full sized keyboard with multidirectional controller. There is a standard headphone jack on the top.
Sharply marketed as a phone for social networking enthusiasts, Motorola Cliq has an application widget called, ‘Happenings’ on the home screen. This will constantly refresh the latest updates of your friends to Facebook, Twitter, Orkut and other social networking sites. There is another widget that collects all the messages that you get from your social networking sites and emails and gives you previews of the latest ones. Cool, isn’t it? There is a third widget that shows your most recent status update on social networking sites and lets you easily update one or many social networking websites at a time.
Motorola’s latest cutting edge software, Motoblur, is the reason you are able to collect data seamlessly from various social networking sites and email accounts. All you have to do is set up your accounts from the list and pick the ones from which Cliq, or more specifically, Motoblur should collect the data.
Apart from the social networking strengths of Motorola Cliq, the phone is also equipped with a 5 megapixel camera. The best part is that Cliq takes sharper pictures than Apple iPhone and the two android based phones from T-Mobile. All of these have 3 megapixel cameras only.
Motorola Cliq has a 2GB microSD card that means there is plenty of storage for pictures and videos. If everything sounds so sweet, there is a flip side to Motorola Cliq, the battery life can drain if you open many widgets, even if you open five of them, the battery life can cede. Also Motorola Cliq can freeze or hang and you may come across an error message saying ‘the application has stopped responding. You can either wait or close it” However Motorola has said that these two issues have been resolved and the final version of the product do not have these problems. Despite these hiccups, Motorola Cliq comes across as a very good mobile phone and is very good for its social networking and camera clarity. Oh, by the way, it makes calls too!
