Credit cards are always at risk of identity thefts. It is important to protect your credit card against identity thefts. Imagine how you can feel if someone uses your credit card or credit card information and the bill comes to you. You may dispute it but the identity thief is sharp enough to make sure that you do not have many proofs. Here is how you can protect your credit card against identity thefts:
• Do not disclose your credit card or debit card numbers to anyone calling you and inquiring for you one. It could be a fraud person or someone using the false name of a bank to get information.
• Verify the website or company which is asking for private or personal information.
• Do not open strange emails and do not fill in your confidential, personal details because such information can be used by the hacker to get into your account or take charge of of your financial transactions online
• Do not give your PIN to anyone. As soon as you lose your debit or credit card, notify the bank and file a police identity theft report. If required, subscribe to an alert system which some credit card companies sell; this is an alert system that tells you about any financial transactions done in your name
