Spot Fake and Illegal Health Insurance

How do you differentiate between illegal and legal health insurance deals? How do you find out fake health insurance? The US witnesses deluge of health insurance products and policies that it can become tricky to find out fake health insurance policies. Among small businesses, fake health insurance is a major scam. In the US, health insurance scams are sure to increase, going by what experts say; and though there are legislations to put a cap on these activities, it is up to the consumer to ensure that he or she takes the right decision.. So how do you distinguish a real health insurance from a fake health insurance plan:
1. Do not buy health insurance policies that are sold by agents who maintain that their insurance is exempt from the state law.
2. There is another kind of health insurance scam-medical discount cards and pharmacy. There are companies that sell products adamantly stating that it is not an insurance product. They charge premiums on a monthly basis and once you file for the claim, they disappear from the picture. These fraudulent health insurance plans anticipate the customer to be a subscriber to their so-called organizations. But then do not take for granted that all discount plans are illegal. To make sure that you have a genuine discount plan in your hand, get the information checked with a commissioner of your state to make sure that the party is real and is authorized to sell health discount cards.
3. Check with the commissioner of insurance to deduce if companies that are selling insurance are legally authorized to do so or not. Do not take insurance from unsolicited people, who call you or fax info without giving away proper credentials. How can you ascertain that you are speaking with a representative of the bank and not some cheat company?
4. Do not agree to insurance policies that ask you to pay high premium and do not include pre-existing conditions. Do not even talk to the health insurance company that does not give contact details.
Fraudulent health insurance companies will deter to make payment by check. They talk hogwash, exaggerate information and persuade you to make an instant decision because they will say that the discount or offer exist for a limited period of time only. So be careful of all these aspects that hint towards a fake health insurance policy.
When you find out something is doubtful or uncertain in your health insurance; report the matter to the Better Business Bureau, Commissioner of Insurance or any such respected authority that can look into the matter at length, and take corrective action.
