Tattoo Pigments can cause skin cancer?

Tattoos are created by injecting pigments into the skin, through a special instrument set with needles. The needles rapidly pierce through the surface of the skin and inject tiny drops of colored ink. Pigments used to create tattoos may be composed of metals such as cobalt or aluminum, carbon black from soot, plastics or vegetable dyes. Cheap tattoo pigments come from uncertain sources, and it may be impossible to be sure of their composition. Sometimes they are mixed up personally by the tattoo artist and the actual constituents are kept a secret.
Allergic reactions, dermatitis and light sensitivity are not uncommon with these chemicals that go into tattoo pigments. Tattoo needles, as with needles used for injections in hospital, should be used only once, but this is not always followed in this unregulated field
Re-used needles can transmit blood-borne diseases such as Hepatitis or HIV. These are potentially serious, and sometimes even life threatening. But skin cancer is not linked to tattooing. However, tattoos created to disguise a mole may hide dangerous cancerous changes (if any) in the mole.
