Twitter Infected with StalkDaily Worm
First of all, let me warn you, visit Twitter at your own risk! Twitter was infected by the StalkDaily worm which means if you visit a StalkDaily worm infected profile of a Twitter user, there is a high possibility of infecting your profile as well.
Infected profile users have reported that the worm modifies the ‘About Me’ section of your profile and puts a direct link to the worm and when someone visits your profile and clicks on the link they are directed to the StalkDaily website. This way you end up sending repeated spam tweets to others.
stalkDaily website claims they are not involved in this worm attack. However, we suggest you not to visit the StalkDaily website for somedays. It has been reported that passwords of the infected profiles were not compromised in this worm attack.
A 17 year old boy named Mikey Mooney has been held responisbile for the worm on Twitter. This boy claimed that he did this to kill boredom and because of his love for finding out loopholes in websites. By doing this he also intended to promote his website.
The Twitter team was quick to solve this problem. Within hours of getting the news of this problem, the issue was resolved.
