Vodafone zoozoo ads: All you wanted to know about zoozoo characters

Vodafone Zoozoo ads are fast becoming the most popular ads in recent times. There are 30 Vodafone Zoozoo ads in all and the entire ad spend for the Vodafone campaign came to Rs.3 crore. Zoozoos are slim white cute figures with egg shaped heads. Vodafone Essar has hit the right buttons with these ads and timing it for the IPL matches have worked a lot in the favor of the most popular mobile service provider in India.
Every zoo zoo ad is about 20 to 30 seconds long. People are connecting in a big manner to these cute characters which look part human and part toy-like. Thousands of people on YouTube and Facebook are already hooked onto the zoozoo ad.
Another big question is are these Vodafone Zoozoos humans? Yes, they are. Zoozoos are women and men from Capetown South Africa, who have been dressed in white to portray these lovable characters. The huge headpieces definitely blocked their vision and they had to still make do with their histrionic talents. The zoozo characters have been conceived and directed by Rajiv Rao of Ogilvy and Mather and the ad campaign has been directed by Prakash Varma of Nirvana Films.
Vodafone,obviously happy with the success of the ad campaign is milking it well. There is a contest called ‘What kind of Zoozoo are you?’ in which users can participate. Zoozoo merchandise like mugs, key chains, etc is on the anvil too.

They are also planning of releasing a DVD of all 30 advertisements after they are released on TV to the fans who have requested for the same.
